Sudbury Dragon Boat Festival. Bell Park, Ramsey Lake, Sudbury. Each year in July, boats from Sudbury and across the province take to the water on Lake Ramsey to compete in the Annual Sudbury Dragon Boat Festival. Competitive and Recreational teams alike enjoy the competition on the 500 meter course. The Festival has free admission for spectators and much entertainment is available, including live bands, a licensed beer tent, a children's area, food vendors and exhibits. Enjoy the Opening Ceremonies on Friday night with performances from musicians and dance groups. Come early on Saturday to catch the first race of the day, and enjoy all that the Sudbury Dragon Boat Festival has to offer. Greater Sudbury Blueberry Festival du bleuet. The Sudbury Blueberry Festival du bleuet celebrates Greater Sudbury’s best above ground natural resource – the lowbush blueberry, recognized as the world’s best fruit – the healthiest food you can eat. It is delicious and best of all free (for the picking) across the many acres of publically accessible land in the city. Each year since 1986 during the third weekend of July the Blueberry Festival hosts events throughout the entire city from the annual Skeed pancake breakfast and Capreol blueberry social to the Ukrainian Seniors garden party and Farmers Market Blueberry Bash. Everyone is invited to participate and host an event, as long as it is related to or has a blueberry theme. Canadian Garlic Festival. The Canadian Garlic Festival was established in 1991 and is hosted by the Ukrainian Seniors in downtown Sudbury. The event runs for one day in the summer and offers garlic dishes done in a variety of ways including garlic desserts.
