ARTISTS AND CRAFTERS NEEDED FOR SUDBURY GARDENING FESTIVAL 2012. The Sudbury Horticultural Society is seeking artists and crafters who are interested in exhibiting and selling their gardening-related crafts at the Sudbury Gardening Festival in 2012. The 2011 Festival was such a great success; the Society will host a one-day Gardening Festival at Market Square on Saturday May 26, 2012 from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. The Festival will feature gardening-related exhibitors and vendors, gardening speakers, and the Horticultural Society's annual flower show and perennial sale. Further information about the Festival is available at www.sudburygardeningfestival.ca. Indoor booths will rent for $75.00 and outdoor booths will rent for $40.00. Half booths are also available. Jan 31, 2012 Deadline: Anishinabek/Ontario Fisheries Resources Centre invites you to enter a Video Contest. The theme of the contest is "How to stop the transmission of aquatic invasive species". Create a 60 second video that::i) describes an aquatic invasive species issues ii)and an action that addresses the issue in order to bring about positive change. Videos can be in any one of the following formats: documentary, how-to segment, news anchor, talk show, video podcast, or slide show with narrative. Video submissions will be categorized by individual and group efforts. Prizes will be awarded to one individual and one group collaboration. Rules: The contest began October 1, 2011 and ends January 31, 2012, The contest is open to youth of the Anishinabek Nation aged 7-17, Only one video submission per individual or group can be entered, -Videos are to be 60 seconds in length, Each video submission must be accompanied by an entry form, -Offical rules and forms at www.aofrc.org. The 2012 Thunder Bay Environmental Film Festival invites filmmakers to enter the second short documentary film competition for local and regional filmmakers. The top prize is provided by Cinevate Inc., the world's professional camera equipment source located right here in Northern Ontario! Create a short 5-15 minute non-fiction work about: a. an environmental issue or problem that is occurring anywhere in Northern Ontario OR b. an environmental success story about a person, group or project from anywhere in Northern Ontario. Entry Fees: Early-Bird Film Submission fee is $15, Final Film Submission Deadline is $20. Payment by cheque or money order payable to “Thunder Bay Environmental Film Festival”. The film title must be clearly printed on all cheques or money orders. Do not send cash.
