Greater Sudbury Blueberry Festival
Website: www.blueberryfestival.ca
The Sudbury Blueberry Festival du bleuet celebrates Greater Sudbury’s best above ground natural resource – the lowbush blueberry, recognized as the world’s best fruit – the healthiest food you can eat. It is delicious and best of all free (for the picking) across the many acres of publically accessible land in the city. Each year since 1986 during the third weekend of July the Blueberry Festival hosts events throughout the entire city from the annual Skeed pancake breakfast and Capreal blueberry social to the Ukrainian Seniors garden party and Farmers Market Blueberry Bash. Everyone is invited to participate and host an event, as long as it is related to or has a blueberry theme. Learn more of the history of the Festival and get contact information to register for an event by visiting the Festival website at www.blueberryfestival.ca.
