Three applicant teams will be shortlisted to participate in an intensive weekend boot camp in North Bay, receiving intensive training and mentorship from industry professionals to further develop their short film projects. The winning team will receive a $10,000 grant sponsored by Bell Media’s bravoFACT, extensive in-kind services to help complete their short film, as well as a guaranteed premiere at the Cinefest Sudbury International Film Festival. Additional partners and sponsors will be announced in the coming months.
The program is open exclusively to residents of northern Ontario as defined by the NOHFC and participants may not be enrolled in a full-time school or university program unless they are completing their final year.
Lumanity will also leverage upcoming feature films it is producing in northern Ontario such as ‘Born To Be Blue’ and ‘Limousine’ to provide additional behind-the-scenes education for the shortlisted teams. Applications are due April 1, 2014.
